Our beverage offering at Le Royale is based around the spirit of hospitality — generosity. Cocktails are shaken and stirred ‘classique’ — martinis poured cold and clean, spirit-forward drinks handled with precision, and a rotating list that balances familiarity with subtle invention.
Champagne is (best) served by the bottle, wine is chosen to suit the hour and conversation, and everything on the menu is designed to sit comfortably alongside live music and long nights.
Equal care is given to the low and alcohol free offering, with thoughtfully built drinks that favour balance and flavour over novelty. Le Royale is a place where drinks arrive at the right pace and the focus remains on staying present in the moment rather than overthinking the menu.
The food at Le Royale is made for the later hours, built to complement the rhythm of the room rather than compete with it.
Drawing on the old-world charm and considered approach of The French Exit, the menu leans into refined small plates and dishes made for sharing, pairing easily with cocktails, wine, and conversation. Expect familiar forms, seafood, fried bites, and bar-friendly classics, alongside a signature Le Royale burger for those who prefer dinner long after dark.

Le Royale is a cocktail bar in the heart of Brisbane City, set above The French Exit in the heritage-listed building on the corner of Mary and Edward street. Designed for the moment when dinner loosens its hold, the room eases into the night with low light, rich textures, and interiors by Sydney designer Tamsin Johnson. Velvet banquettes, marble surfaces, and a central bar all seem to invite one more drink without asking.
Music sets the room in motion. DJs work behind the decks, dropping the right track at the right moment. Thursday–Saturday the house band takes over in the evenings, paying homage to familiar songs with jazz-inflected renditions. At the bar, classics also take the lead — martinis poured cold and clean, Champagne by the bottle, and a rotating list of cocktails that balance precision with play. Low- and alcohol-free cocktails are crafted with equal care and the beverage list also draws from Anyday’s reserve wine cellar and a curated selection of fresh Australian beers.
The food menu draws inspiration from The French Exit’s bistrot grammar, built for sharing and staying close, with the signature Le Royale for those who can stay long.
