At Agnes, the focus of the menu is the creative use of wood fire. No electricity, no gas, just fire. Our Executive Chef and co-owner, Ben Williamson, and his talented team strip cooking to its primordial elements. It allows for true creativity and personal expression to flourish in this environment. Even different types of wood - ironbark, apple wood, cherry wood and olive wood are all used to interact uniquely with the dishes and bring out their unique flavours. The team works with regional suppliers and farmers to provide the freshest and best quality meat, seafood, poultry and vegetables. The menu moves with the seasons, and is less a specific type of cuisine and more a way of looking at dining as a whole. It is not fine dining, but not entirely casual, something informative, unique, special here at Agnes.

The drink selection at Agnes has been considered from all sides - from interacting with the flavours of the dishes, to suiting the atmosphere, to celebrating the wide world of spirits and wine in all their forms. The cocktails often have a woodfire element, while the wine list, filled with prolific and more boutique producers from all over the world, has been similarly designed to stand up to the flavours of the smoke and the food. All of this brought together with our own brand of world class service, makes for a dining experience you won’t forget.

Arriving early, or staying late. Downstairs from the main dining room sits the wine bar, which serves a comprehensive list of beverages and serves as a walk-in diner space or waiting room for main dining room guests. Upstairs you will find our terrace, with a bar of its own and a beautiful view of the city. We do not serve the full Agnes menu on the terrace, but you can have a bar snack or your dessert whilst you gaze upon the view. We do not take bookings for the terrace bar.

At Agnes we offer three different function spaces – our private dining room, our wine bar and our terrace. Alternatively, you can simply book the entire restaurant, which can accommodate up to seventy guests. Whatever the requirements, you bring the crowd and we’ll provide the wood-fired dishes, wines and cocktails.
