Golden Avenue’s menu draws from the depth and breadth of Middle Eastern cooking, from the Levant to the Maghreb, and brought to life by Culinary Director Ben Williamson, Executive Chef Adam Wolfers and Head Chef Tim Yates.

The spirit in the kitchen is built on woodfire, spice, and the belief that all great food is meant to be shared. It stays traditional at heart and fresh in execution.

Housemade breads are fired to order — pillowy, crisp, and ready to be torn, dipped, and passed along. Mezze comes fast, like the arak going down: fresh fish sliced thin with sour apple and preserved turnip; falafel, cloud-light and herb-packed; brik pastries filled with saffron-scented seafood; chickpeas fried crisp and dusted in our no-waste za’atar.

Then come the coal grill and clay pots: lamb shoulder, blistered prawns, fenugreek chicken, swordfish with hawaij and oil. Vegetables might be smoked, pickled, spiced, or dressed in sharp herb vinaigrettes but never play second fiddle.

When it’s time for something sweet: think luqaimat, burnt honey, cream, sour cherry or the whisper of cardamom and date still on your nose.

You might not recognise every word on the menu and that’s by design. We cook with curiosity, not borders. Ask questions. Try something new. Every plate tells a story, and the table always has more to say.

The drinks at Golden Avenue don’t sit in the background, they move with the pace of the room.

The wine list leans textural, bright, and bold — stretching from charismatic whites to chilled reds and big Mediterranean hitters with strong spines. There’s room for both the classic and the offbeat, all with a throughline of flavour, energy and intent.

Cocktails are sharp, playful, and purpose-built: some made to quench, others to provoke. You’ll find saffron, sumac, green chilli and rose, each treated with the same respect they get in the kitchen.

You might land on a Xinomavro that meets charred lamb with a nod, or a frozen white peach and rosé number on a winding afternoon. Maybe it’s a salted honey espresso martini for whatever happens after dark.

Wherever you look, you’ll find drinks built to keep the table talking, long after the plates are cleared.

في صحتك — fi sahhtik — cheers to your health.

GA is Golden Avenue’s bar; separate entrance, same spirit.

It’s louder here. The music’s dialled up, the lights are dialled down and the drinks are front and centre. Over 130 bottles line the back bar, a collection made up of punchy local spirits to rare finds. All are chosen for their story, their scent, their shape. Chilli, smoke, citrus, spice — shaken, stirred or served neat.

The snack menu pulls from the main kitchen but keeps things to fingers: oysters, falafel, fried quail, spiced chickpeas, dips, and bread straight off the fire. Food you don’t need to think about — just reach for between sips.

All of this moves to the sound of a playlist curated by Anyday’s Creative Director of Music, Graz Mulcahy, with live DJs joining the mix on select nights.

GA is walk-in only — no bookings needed. Just find a seat and settle in. However you show up, we’ll stay up with you into the night.

Golden Avenue’s dedicated private dining space seats up to 26 guests and is set up for long tables, shared menus, and loud toasts. Larger event bookings can also make use of the other dining levels including the mezzanine, courtyard, GA bar or you can book the entire restaurant for one hundred and fifty guests. So whether it’s a birthday, a business lunch, or something in between, we’ll tailor the food, drinks and flow of the room to suit the moment.

  • Private Dining space capacity - up to 26 people sit down

  • Mezzanine capacity - up to 55 people sit down

Golden Avenue sits just off the street in Brisbane’s CBD but feels a world away once you’re inside.

Our hosts meet you at the door and guide you through a sprawl of stone, tile and twists of green. Move between granite, off-form concrete, stainless steel, and sprawling skylights all brought together by the bold, people-focused eye of J.AR Office.

A mosaic of influence runs from the walls to the stove, drawn from the breadth of Middle Eastern cuisine and tiled together by Culinary Director Ben Williamson, Executive Chef Adam Wolfers and Head Chef Tim Yates.

For Ben, Golden Avenue marks a return to the cuisine that first shaped his career — the fire, spice, and generosity of the Levant, explored deeply during his time abroad. After co-founding Agnes and building one of the country’s most acclaimed woodfire kitchens, this new chapter brings that mastery back to Middle Eastern cooking which is lighter, brighter, but still bold. He’s joined by Adam, known for his progressive takes on Levantine food shaped by his Yemeni-Hungarian heritage, and Tim, who honed his precision with fire at London’s Scully.

The kitchen isn’t hidden, it’s part of the theatre. Doors open to flames and smoke, dishes rolling out fast. Mezze hits the table full of colour. Grilled plates arrive blistered and bright. Desserts carry spice and surprise.

The drinks follow suit. The wine list leans global to give shape, texture, and intent. We've made sure the quirks are as thoughtful as the classics. Cocktails are precise and quick-witted, always tuned to the room.

However you arrive, Golden Avenue will make sure you’re there to stay.
